Choosing a Name

Internet dating sites ask a screen name, and yes: you do want to use a name that is different from your real name. In the least case you will want to walk away from women that send you unpleasant proposals, worst case to hide from your work colleagues.

Pick a nice name that is not too draconian. Have a story to tell with the name, since women will be asking for it.

If you're Ronald, you could for instance choose Robby, since you like Robby Williams. Makes a nice item for friendly conversation, girls love him and he's, like you, adventurous. And as a special bonus: both names have the same first letter.

Some services require a unique name: add a number to achieve that. Also here a chance to create mystery, so be more original than adding your birth date (Ronald1975?).

I added my height in feet-inch: Ronald67 (I admit: I am a tall chap). You can also take a historical date you like a lot: Ronald1492. Do anything that has a nice and touching story behind it.

Names you like to stay away from, because they gently disgust the women, are names for objects (Super peanut, Razorblade) or names for animals (Grizzly, Tiger claw).

Also stay away from names that contain sexual insinuations (SexySteve, BigBert, Dynamite, LuckyDick). Women are taught by society to at least give you an impression of good manners (read: they have to say they are not easy, not a slut), responding to a man with such a name gives complex negative thoughts, so they won't. And in line with that: also prevent using any name with the number 69 in it. It's not funny and all girls know what sexual position it stands for.

And to give you a wake up call about the level of competence of other men online: All these names are actually really used on the net: I am not that creative.
